I have seen some other clown reviews slice a finger off these gloves when pressing it to a cutting board. They are missing the point – no pun intended. These offer a difficult to gain purchase on surface that will make accidental cuts much less likely. They do not turn your hands into Superman’s hands. They work well with a mandolin. Not really hand specific. Wear it on your non-cutting hand when using a knife and (obviously) on your pushing hand when using a mandolin. I would not use a mandolin without one because those spikey little food grabbers do not work well and you will always resort to using your hand.
