Inside each of the “hands” there are little push switches to turn on the lights. These have those little tabs between the batteries that you need to pull out. You have to fiddle around to try to find the tab to pull out as the battery/switch pods dont come out, they are sealed into the hat. After I removed the tab on 1 side it worked, I couldnt find the tab on the other side, so I decided to make a small slide in the hat to remove the battery/switch. I found that one of the wires was not soldered on, after about 2 minutes I got it soldered back in and it works great. My daughter is going to love this hat.
