My son’s an escape artist and can get out of this himself. Because this is being strapped to a regular chair, it doesn’t have the extra stability of a high chair, so if the child does get out of it, he can knock the chair over. So you can’t walk away from them at all, even a few feet. I tried this while cooking 5 feet or so away and my son managed to fall before I could get to him. Fortunately, he was fine, but now I only use this at the actual table when he’s sitting right next to someone. This is also easy to wash, easy to remove and set up. It is great for staying at someone else’s house but a little less useful in a restaurant because you have to adjust the strap under the seat, which is hard to do on the fly while trying not to disturb other diners.

This is by far one of the most clever baby items I’ve purchased yet, I wish I had it months ago! It attaches easily to any standard chair and baby goes in just as easily. The only thing is it doesn’t have any cushioning behind the head, so my son banged his head back and into the metal chair but now I just put a dish towel or whatever I have handy underneath until he is out of the head banging stage. Really happy I’ll have this for our two week vacation in europe coming up.
