I hate push sticks. I honestly rarely used one or just didn’t bother. The long birdsmouth ones were never stable, I don’t have the time or patience to waste my precious shop time building some YouTube version of the galaxy’s best push stick. But – I love my hedgehog featherboard. And I figured if the crew that came up with that made a push stick then it’s worth a try.
It’s worth it. I love this thing. It’s narrow, so it’s great for thin cuts. It grips well. It’s got a little foot to give you a nice positive catch on the piece. And somehow, they’ve managed to out the handle at an angle that lets you push forward and down at the same time and the whole cut feels like it’s on rails.
I love tools and I don’t mind paying top dollar for quality. This thing is top dollar quality at a solid price. It’s taken the place of my grr-ripper as my preferred table saw aid. Sure they both have their place but this is my new go-to.
