I found a way to use with the smaller bottle necks such as from Costco/Kirkland. I have both metric and SAE O-ring assortments from Harbor Freight. I found that the metric #212/P22.4 O-ring can be slipped over the bottle neck. It makes a firm fit with the buckle clip. Other bottles may need a different size O-ring. Which is why it is good to have an assortment of O- rings.
Just remember to reuse the O-ring when disposing of the bottle when done.
