In addition to using these as wineglass tethers ( which do fit my wineglasses with minor adjustment- slightly raise up the tether if needed), these are an excellent dish separator! On the lower rack, I played with them and hooked them together like the old tinker toys, sometimes you may bend them into the plate, sometimes not- depends on the plate. This creates a fabulous stabilizer so plates don’t fall over and I can now actually face them to center instead all in same direction to minimize them hitting each other! The upper rack, I use just straight up to separate bowls in different rows from touching each other.
